The Story of Ferdinand is a children’s book that teaches lessons to kids. Ferdinand is a bull who lives on a pasture with his mother and other younger bulls. All the bulls enjoy playing and fighting other than Ferdinand. He likes to sit under the trees and smell flowers. His mother is worried for him as he is different from the other bulls. When she realizes that Ferdinand is happy the way he is, she stops worrying about him. Until one day five men take him away…

Corduroy is a teddy bear who waits on a departmental store shelf every day to be chosen and taken home. One day a little girl asks her mom to let her get Corduroy. Her mother points out that he is missing a button. That night Corduroy sets out on an adventure to find his missing button. Although, the next morning is his lucky day. A little girl buys him using the money she saved in her piggy bank and takes him home. Corduroy decides that this must be home and that Lisa must be his friend.

The Lorax is one of the most interesting children’s books. The book teaches children to care about the environment. 

The Once-Ler arrives in a beautiful forest full of Trufulla trees. He is captivated by these trees and decides to chop one of them down to make Thneed out of its tuft. He is met by a small creature who objects to the cutting of the tree. The Once-ler ignores the creature and goes on to cut more trees. 


  1. The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig (Reading age 6-9 years)

Brian is invisible to his classmates and even teachers. He is never included in groups, games, or invited to birthday parties. He is left out until a new kid Justin joins the school. Brian is the first one to make him feel welcome. Justin befriends Brian making him feel that he isn’t invisible after all. The Invisible Boy is adorned with beautiful illustrations which show the same empathy towards Brian as the story.
